Fantastic spot !!
My family and I enjoyed a fantastic long Labor Day weekend at this wonderful Pt. Vivian home. The home is spacious with a very nice open floor plan on the main level. The large, fully equipped kitchen opens to a dining area, with a table large enough to seat 8 comfortably, and extends to a great living room all situated to enjoy the River from an entire wall of windows!! Being on the Main Channel is a thrill as you can watch the huge ocean-going vessels pass by. The 4 bedrooms are all good sized, 3 with King size beds. The master bedroom on the 1st floor, with adjoining master bath with walk-in shower, was a great accommodation for my father. The huge garage providing parking for 2 cars was a nice bonus. The front lawn offers plenty of room to sit and enjoy the majestic River. We all enjoyed relaxing in the sun, some had fun fishing off the point and a big convenience was the great dock space allowing us to dock a 24’ pontoon boat. This home, and location, really offer everything you would want while vacationing on the River! Barb, the owner, was very easy to work with and I hope to be able to spend another vacation at this fantastic home in the quaint Pt. Vivian community on the St Lawrence.
Enjoyable Stay In The Thousand Islands
We spent a very enjoyable week at this property. The listing accurately portrays this property. The view of the river channel was outstanding. It seemed that you could almost shake hands with the captain of each large ship as it passed by. There is good docking at the property for a motor boat. Also a large garage and short drive provides adequate parking for three ordinary sized vehicles. Also nearby shopping was very convenient for all of our needs.
There were plenty of fans to keep us cool and the inside view of the channel was great. Plenty of table space to assemble a puzzle, play cards or just chat with friends and family. Neighbors seemed very friendly. In summary, we would certainly consider staying at this property again on our next visit to the area.
Worth the money?
Is this VRBO rental worth the money? At a pre tax, fee, cleaning price of a night a t a luxury hotel, I say NO.
The river front location may be the best detail about the home.
The mattresses are old and lumpy. The towels, which there are too few, are almost thread bare and old.
The house only has A/C upstairs in the 'kid's room' and the window unit is old and noisey. It went off constantly during the night and woke up the kids each night the whole week.
On top of not being worth themonehy, I was charged an extra cleaning fee because the floors were not swept and there were crumbs on the counter. Food was left in the fridge as well. We knew anther family was coming in so instead of throwing away good food we left it there. My question, in every other rental home we have stayed at the cleaning included floors and counters. What cleaning crew does not sweep the floors and wipe down the counters as standard operating procedure? I was not going to write a review and just move on but the extra cleaning fee did not sit well with me and my family. One more thing, we were told we needed to be out by 9a. 9a? What overnight stay anywhere has 9a departure. Had we been able to stay until 11 we may have had the time to sweep and wipe counters (cleaning crew job in my opinion). Overall I would not recommend the house for the price. Thank you!
This location is amazing. The dock worked great for our 22ft boat. The kids could float and play in the water as this area is protected from the strong current. The house was well equipped. Would love to have had central A/C the weather is warming up more and more these days. However the owners provided lots and lots of fans. So we were able to be comfortable.
we had 9 people and we were very comfortable, and had a great time.
Thank you! Please come again.
Great Place in The Thousand Islands
Your home is well-appointed, in a great location, has nice dock space, a good swimming beach, fishing in the front yard, and lots of freighters cruising by. Your kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms are well stocked and comfortable. Six Adults and four children under 5 spent the week boating, swimming, fishing, sunning, cooking and eating, and relaxing during the week. There was room for all to work and play together as well as spend quiet time by ourselves when needed. The garage was large enough to allow us to pull boats and trailers in for storage and preparation. The extra refrigerator was excellent for overflow refrigerated storage. And the laundry facility is an added bonus. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. Point Vivian also has a spacious community facility, dock, and small playground.
