Downtown LA Urban Flat
The property is almost exactly as you see it online. There’s a little wear and tear, but it’s pretty clean overall. Great location and value. Biggest problem was the lack of communication about how to check in even though I used their preferred method of communication, the VRBO messaging service.
Hey Jason Thank you! We appreciate your feedback. We are still optimizing our check in processes and this feeback is very valued! So happy you enjoyed your stay! Zach w/ Urban Flat
Great place !!
5 star overall on everything!!
Nice place, secure, great location.
Friendly staff onsite, our family had a great experience.
Expensive, only basic furnishings and inconvenient building access
The property itself was as advertised and fine overall. The big issue we had was the keyfob situation.
In previous communication, the host stated that there would be two sets of keys. Arriving there, we soon found out that this wasn't true, and there was only one building keyfob available to us. This keyfob would be for building access from the street, as well as for using the elevator and accessing the pool and rooftop areas.
Since we were a group of six, managing the one single keyfob and making arrangements to get everyone into the building soon turned into a huge headache that soured the entire trip.
I had no personal contact with the host except through phone texts with their support team. The person handling the support was friendly and responsive, but ultimately unhelpful. She kept saying that they would look into it, but nothing happened until three days into our stay, where she said that we could pick up an extra fob downstairs at the reception. The people down there told me that the fob hadn't been paid for and that I'd need to pay them a sizeable chunk of money to get it, which I refused. I got back to the service team, which again promised to "look into it" but nothing happened and we had to finish our 5-night stay struggling with only one key.
Our band-aid solution was that we had to keep asking the concierge/front desk people to let us into the building and unlock the elevator to let us up to our unit. This resulted in a number of awkward interactions because the building's official stance is that short-term rental of the units is not allowed, and there were big signs in the elevator saying just that. They let us up anyway, but not without numerous discussions.
The unit was decently equipped, but the kitchen specifically hardly furnished. All it had was very basic dinnerware and cooking utensils and only two tiny pots/pans that were barely big enough to cook an actual meal. There were also no spices or anything else.
You could tell that this unit isn't an actual apartment that someone lives in, but rather a unit that was furnished for minimal cost just to rent it out for a profit.
Some of the bedding (like pillows) was dirty underneath the sheets.
Overall, it was a good unit, but the minimal furnishing, plus the key situation and the resulting headache means the value wasn't good for the very high price we were charged. I wouldn't recommend staying here and I won't be returning.
Awesome property in great location
Lovely place to stay...easy to walk to good choices for food. Checking in was a bit clunky-front desk was awkward interaction & could not get into building due to security...where to park was unclear as we did not find visitor parking initially.
Beautiful apartment-nice views of downtown.
AC was out entire stay!! Management said they would take of it but never did!!
